Mr. LAU Tat Man, Daren, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Tam Jai International Co. Limited (TJI), a leading and renowned restaurant chain operator, has been steering the Company forward since 2018. Mr. Lau is responsible for shaping the growth path of the Company, leading strategic initiatives and managing overall business development and operation. Under his leadership, TJI has been dedicated its resources to strengthening the brands equity and awareness, as well as the market positioning and penetrations, uplifting operation standards and efficiencies by embedding standardizations, and pioneering the market by enhancing product and service innovation, quality and consistency. An ESG strategy framework for the sustainable development of the Group with three pillars: “Nourishing Communities”, “Uplifting People” and “Preserving Nature”, are set to mark the company’s ESG development direction.
The Company’s business grew in leaps and bounds under pandemic and turbulent times under Mr. Lau’s stewardship. The Company’s two brands, TamJai Yunnan Mixian and TamJai SamGor Mixian, successfully expanded their footprint beyond Hong Kong and set up their restaurants in Mainland China, Singapore and Japan, and will continue to expand to different regions across the world. In October 2021, Mr. Lau successfully brought TJI to its listing on the Main Board of Hong Kong Stock Exchange (stock code: 02217.HK), marking a significant milestone in the development of the Company.
Mr. Lau has over 30 years of experience in the food and beverage industry in Hong Kong and the Asia Pacific region. Prior to joining TJI, he worked as a managing director of Asia Pacific at Select Service Partner Asia Pacific Limited, a subsidiary of the SSP Group PLC, a company listed on the London Stock Exchange (stock code: SSPG). Also, he worked as a managing director of the quick service restaurants group of Cafe’ de Coral Group Limited, a subsidiary of Café de Coral Holdings Limited (“Café de Coral”), a company listed on the Main Board of the Stock Exchange (stock code: 341).
Mr. Lau holds a master’s degree in business administration from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in Hong Kong and was placed on the dean’s list in 2010 to 2011.
